
Julie* is a Transgender female who had been the victim of Transphobic abuse. Having recently moved to the area she felt isolated, lonely and disturbed by what had happened and her confidence had hit an all time low. She had attempted self-harm stopped eating and was struggling to make friends and socialise as her confidence was low.

Sam* is a 24 year old male. He suffered Domestic Abuse from his ex partner for over a year. In 2018 his ex partner carried out a sustained and life changing attack on Sam which left him in Intensive Care for several weeks. Sam was identified as vulnerable and intimidated under the Victim’s Code of Practice and was referred into our service.

Letya* was referred to our service in 2019 following a report of harassment. Letya and her family moved to UK few years ago after she was a victim of honour based violence from her own family. Due to past experiences Letya was suffering from PTSD. The family were targeted on a daily basis by the neighbours including name calling, harassment and racist comments.

Noah* had witnessed his neighbour being assaulted earlier in the month. As a result of Noah providing a statement he was receiving texts telling him to retract his statement or he will be in trouble. Noah stated he was worried about further intimidation and people attending the house as he lives there with his 2 year old son. He also said she was worried about attending court as a witness.

Edith* is a 73 year old female who was a victim an aggravated burglary in her own home and she was struggling to cope. It quickly became apparent she was isolated, had little or no support from family or friends and was in poor health. As a result of the offence she had become almost house bound.

Gabby* was a 37 year old woman who reported a series of rapes committed by her ex-husband between 2010-2012. Following investigation and lengthy evidence gathering, the offender was charged. Gabby had herself contacted our service feeling she was struggling to cope after the court case. She felt she couldn’t talk to her family and friends about things as she had thought she could and had become withdrawn and had lost interest in all the things she had previously enjoyed.
