Victims First Northumbria celebrates Pride

Posted by RE Media on July 15th, 2016

Victims First Northumbria is supporting this weekend’s Newcastle Northern Pride Festival celebrations, promoting awareness of LGBT+ issues and the support available for anyone affected by hate crime.

The event, which is the ninth in the city, will take place primarily at the Town Moor and you’ll be able to find us at the Northumbria Police stand and at the health tent on Saturday and Sunday – do come and say hello.

Pride is the perfect opportunity for us to raise awareness of our commitment to supporting all communities and we want to remind anyone subjected to any form of abuse – for being who they are – to speak out knowing they will be listened to, understood and fully supported.

Please remember, even if the crime hasn’t be reported to Northumbria Police, Victims First Northumbria is here to offer practical and emotional support to help you cope and recover from your experience. To ensure the help is right for you, we also work with a range of fantastic support services across Northumbria.

To find out more, come see us this weekend or give a Victims First Co-ordinator a call on 0800 011 3316.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic Pride and wish everyone a safe an enjoyable weekend!
