Our service in the Community

Trauma Teddy Scheme

The Trauma Teddy project is a partnership project with ourselves and Northumbria Police, launched in 2017, teddies kindly knitted by members of the community across the region are given as a comforter to young people in distress. Teddies may be given out to a young person who has been a victim or has witnessed a distressing incident such as a road traffic accident, a domestic incident, or after separation from family or friends in a public place. These children will be offered a follow-up call from our service, to review the young person’s well-being and identify any subsequent support needs.
*Please note some Trauma Teddies may be donated to other region based initiatives & projects if they are deemed not suitable for the Trauma Teddy Project.
